While GIF is a popular image format like JPG or PNG, an animated GIF is an image with multiple frames animated at different speeds. GIF is the image format that supports animation and an animated GIF is a sort of mini video without audio, that can play without the need for a separate media player or plug-in. All GIF images have the file extension “.gif”. The GIF animations are rendered through most web browsers and email clients and on all the popular operating systems. It doesn’t require any special media player to see the animation.

- Go to Wegif.com and create an account.
- Next, sign in to your account and go to the “Create page”. You will be presented with two different options to create an animated GIF i.e. You can either upload images that you already have on your computer or click fresh snapshots using a webcam from the WeGIF interface. A minimum of two images will be needed to create an animated GIF. The best animated images are created by using a sequence of images of a moving object, clicked at short intervals from the same camera position. Though it is easy to create GIF animation, you need good skills in photography to shoot the most realistic sequence of images.
- After uploading the images or capturing them through a webcam from WeGIF’s interface, you may tweak the speed and timing of the animation, until you are satisfied with the output. Then, click the “Done” button.
That is all! You have created your own GIF animation. However, make sure that the webcam is not used by any other application when you intend using it with WeGIF.
