Hey this is a great set of tips. The first one worked for me. The screen flickered probably because it was at a higher capacity(since it was a new monitor I hooked up to my older computer.) Thanks the flickering stopped.

I used have such problems an year ago
Luckily, i had a friend around he solved it for me .I don’t remember how ?

hey great tips out there. For refesh rate i would suggest the maximum i.e around 85hertz. It will relieve so much of pressure and strain from your eyes. Moreover I think if its CRT monitor, you should consider degausing it to prevent some flickering. I was facing a flickering issue with my monitor.
But it was the problem with Monitor itself, they replaced it.
