If you have installed SP1 in Vista or SP3 in XP you will not be able to uninstall IE8b2. There was a big-arse warning to that effect when you installed IE8b2 (though not if you installed SP3/SP1 AFTER it).

Only way is to reinstall Windows. Don’t you <3 MS?

There may also be third-party removal tools out there (like there are for DirectX). However obviously you could really screw up your system if these tools are used improperly or if they are coded poorly (hence why MS doesn’t let you do it).

Me personally, I use Google Chrome and Firefox. I only keep IE around for website compatibility testing, and then I use the latest version so I can have some semblance of web standards.
