Vista snipping tool to print screen

Vista Snipping tool is a print screen or screen capture tool in vista (windows). This vista screen capture tool can be used to capture a snip or screen shot of any object on your screen.You can even annotate, save, or share the image. 

In vista (windows) you can simply use a mouse or tablet pen to capture a full screen window (print screen), free form or rectangular snip. After you capture a snip using the mouse or tablet pen, it is automatically copied to the mark-up window, where you can annotate, save, or share the snip.

How to capture a snip using vista snipping tool?

  • Click the Start button
  • Click All Programs –> Accessories –> Snipping tool
  • Click the arrow next to the New button
  • select a snip type from the menu
  • Use your mouse or tablet pen to capture a snip

To capture a snip (print screen fully or partially) of a menu,open Snipping Tool, press ESC, and then open the menu that you want to capture. Then press CTRL+PRINT SCREEN. You can then follow the last three steps mentioned above to capture the snip i.e. click the arrow next to the New button, select a snip type from the menu, and then use your mouse or tablet pen to capture the menu.

Annotate and share snips:

You can use the mouse or tablet pen to write on or around the snip. Finally to save the snip, Click the Save Snip button. In the Save As dialog box, enter a name for the snip, choose a location to save the snip in, and then click Save.  
 

If you like to share the snip, click the arrow on the Send Snip button, and then select an option from the menu.

Vista snipping tool options:

If an URL appears when you capture a snip from a browser window and save it as an HTML file, you can turn it off: 

  • Click the Start button
  • Click All Programs –> Accessories –> Snipping tool
  • Click Options
  • In the Snipping Tool Options dialog box, clear the Include URL below snips (HTML only) check box.

You can also set various other options in vista snipping tool like the color of the ink used to capture snips or remove the ink completely or automatically copy snips to clipboard. 
 

Snipping tool is a great way to do scree captures (print screen) in windows vista.You can also do a video screen cature, using the free Camstudio in windows vista.
