Dimdim is one of my favourite web conferencing platform. It is a high quality, but cheaper alternative to webex or Microsoft’s live meeting, to host live web meetings or web conferences.
Dimdim 4.5 is now available with some great new features. Kudo to the Dimdim team for listening to users demands.
New Features of Dimdim 4.5 – free, opensource web conferencing tool:
- SynchroLive Web Browsing: Dimdim 4.5 now provides Synchronized live Web Browsing i.e. as you scroll through a web page on your computer, your guests can see what you do – synchronized and live. For eg: if you Visit a YouTube video page, the video will start playing on everyone’s computer – instantly !!!
- Better Recording & Archiving: You can now simply press the record button to create a recording of your meeting. You can then grab a code to paste the recording on your blog or website !!!
- Improved Meeting Tools: with dimdim 4.5, meeting hosts can use a laser pointer on their presentations or whiteboards, turn on attendee webcams and microphones and zoom documents !!!
- Improved User Interface: A single click is all it takes to share your screen, whiteboard, web pages and presentations. And no install is ever required to host meetings, share webcams, whiteboards or powerpoint slides !!!
- Powerful Integrations: Dimdim 4.5 is now integrated with Zimbra open source email as a free zimlet, with Moodle LMS, with SugarCRM, and with Claroline. An open API and open source version is also available !!!
- if you already have a dimdim account, you do not need to do anything to get these new features as all Dimdim accounts have already been upgraded!
Free download Dimdim 4.5 to host it on your own servers or simply start a web meeting by simply signing on to your Dimdim account. If you don’t have an account, then it is time you quickly register for a free account and start enjoying free, high quality web meetings and web conferences.
