Comments on: WPElegance 2 Column Wordpress Theme

We just installed the theme on our group blog at the language center at UC Berkeley, and really like the clean design. But I’m wondering how I can pull a certain category of posts (say, the most recent 10) as one tab of the tabbed sidebar. I’ve tried enabling code for this but my PHP skills are limited. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thank you.

The problem is with the Jquery included in wordpress 2.8. Will soon release an update to the theme by including the latest Jquery files and ignoring the ones in Wordpress Core, as i am not sure when Wordpress 2.8.1 will be released or whether this will be corrected there.

I have exactly the same problem as Toni. The only plugin I use is Akismet, so no Javascript as far as I can see…

I am having the same problem as Toni above. I have two posts listed as “featured” and they are being displayed vertically, instead of horizontally, with the 2nd post running into the main page. I just installed your theme yesterday and a few made few simple changes in the sidebar. Thanks in advance for your help!

Great theme, thank you! I installed this theme for a friend, and she loves it as well. However, the feature post section isn’t working as expected. Instead of appearing in the featured box, the first feature post is in the box and the rest of the posts are posted below it over top of the regular blog entries. Basically they aren’t working within the box and they don’t slide when you press the arrows. We haven’t touched any of the files at all, simply installed the theme and set two test posts to feature. It’s a brand new install, so there are no additional frills yet. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Replace line 416 in functions.php of the theme i.e.
$comments_by_type = &separate_comments(get_comments(’post_id=’ . $id));

with these two lines and save:

$comments_for_post = get_comments(’post_id=’ . $id);
$comments_by_type = &separate_comments($comments_for_post);

I checked for the error: “Only variables can be passed by reference php error” in google and i found a lot of articles on this. for eg:

Interesting post and not sure why it does not happen on all versions as it seems to work fine on my php versions.

Nice looking theme, the featured content section combination looks a bit out of sync. You could have given the grey color for complete width of the featured and included the 2 arrows inside it. This is just my suggestion, over all great theme.
