Facebook Locales and Languages

Facebook uses the format ll_CC for specifying language and country where 11 stands for the two letter language code and CC stands for the two letter country code. The following tables list the supported locales country codes and language codes.

However there are two exceptions where facebook does not follow the ISO standard: ar_AR and es_LA.These are used to denote umbrella locales for Arabic and Spanish. For Spanish, Facebook even support a few specialized localizations.
