Firefox language packs are available for Afrikaans, English (South African), Esperanto, Estonian, Friulian, Galician, Hindi, Indonesian, Malagasy, Ndebele South, Northern Sotho, Persian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Romanian, Siswati, Southern Sotho, Tamil (India), Tamil (Sri Lanka), Tatar, Telugu, Tsonga, Tswana, Ukrainian, Venda, Vietnamese, Welsh, Wolof, Xhosa and Zulu languages.Firefox dictionaries are available for many more languages.

Firefox language pack:

Firefox language pack is a Firefox add-on that determines or changes the language in which menus, options, preferences, and text that is part of the Firefox application is displayed. However a firefox language pack does not change or affect the language of the downloaded web content. It also does not change the language of Firefox‘s built-in spell-checker.

How to use or change firefox language pack:

After you have installed the language pack, you must enable it from within Firefox through a preference.

  • Enter about:config in the Firefox address bar (without the http://) and press ENTER on your keyboard.
  • In the textbox labelled “Filter:” type general.useragent.locale to bring up the general.useragent.locale entry.
  • Double-click the general.useragent.locale entry and
  • Enter the value for the language pack to use. This value should be the .XPI filename without the “.XPI” extension.
  • click OK.

Firefox spell-check dictionary:

Firefox has spell-check dictionaries in a number of languages that can be be used to spell-check the content that you type in any textarea and textbox html elements on any webpage.To change the spell-check language, right click on any textarea or textbox html element and choose “Languages” –> “Your language“. You can also add a dictionary for any language by choosing “Languages” –> “Add dictionaries…
