  3. I have a problem with this skin, I don’t know why but featured post stop working:/

  4. You would have disabled it in Theme options page.Uncheck “Disable Featured Posts” in the options page.

  5. Update: A new version of Gandhi theme that supports threaded comments and fixes issues in adding widgets to sidebars have been released.Pls. download it now from above. All those who downloaded and are facing issues with sidebar widgets may download this bug fixed theme again.

  6. Disable Featured Posts in options is already unchecked. Look at my site: there are featured post, but don’t slide.

  7. Download the latest version as it includes support for threaded comments as well…

In your source code I see some javascript reference to scriptaculous.js. what is using it? Does the archives on the left sidebar uses it? If so can you disable the archives and try? Probably it is conflicting with this….

  8. You’re right it was a problem with this reference! I deactivate the Collapsible Archive Widget in plugins, and everything working.
Thank you very much for your help! πŸ™‚

  9. No problem πŸ™‚ Enjoy the theme.
You may anyway download the latest version, as it includes support for threaded comments and fixes a few issues with sidebar widgets.

  10. I will upgrade to lasted version, but first I must translate it:)

  11. thanks

  12. Hi! Thanks for this theme. I really like the neat design. I’m using it on my blog now.

  13. cool…looks great with your header image…but i think you are using the previous version. You can use the latest one that supports threaded comments…

I like the info about Davao city…a new place for me πŸ™‚

  14. @Rajesh

What is the name of plugin you using to subscibe via email and rss(right sidebar under the translations)?

  15. It is not a plugin.Just a form that i designed on my own. In case you need it, do let me know your email id and i will mail that to you.

  16. Hi,

    Very nice theme.

Just one question. The headings in the sidebar is white but when I added an rss feed with the” Rss-widget”, that heading becomes blue (very hard to read on a dark background) like the rest of the links in the blog. How can I make that RSS link/heading white too so it looks like all other headings in the sidebars and have all other links blue.

Apart from that, great theme. πŸ™‚

    – Thomas

P.S… I added a link to the blog so you can see what I mean, check in the left sidebar.

  17. I see that on your blog. The headings in the sidebars usually contai only plain text. But this widget adds an URL in the heading πŸ™

    I did not anticipate that.

Add these to your stylesheet i.e. style.css file and save it

    #sidebar-right .sidebar_box h4 a{

    #sidebar-left .sidebar_box h4 a{

In case you are not sure or face any difficulties, do let me know and I will mail across a new version. thanks for using Gandhi πŸ™‚

  18. Thanks.
That worked like a charm. πŸ™‚

  19. I really love the way you had customized the theme’s header background image.

but you seem to have issues in setting up feeds for your site. Let me know if I can help.

  20. Hi,

Thanks for the kind words. The link I posted before was going to my test blog. Maybe that was caused you trouble. It works fine now when blog is on its correct location and using Firefox rss icon in the address bar.

However, I have one more question.
How do I get rid of the social bookmark things in the posts. I have no use for those.

  21. you can open single.php and find a div tag with id “tools”. Below it you will find another div tag like this: < div style=”float:left;”> and it ends with </div> Remove the entire div tag.

But take a backup of your single.php, before you make the changes.

  22. Thanks, that worked great. πŸ™‚

  23. But I checked it and you seem to have removed an extra div tag. The sidebar falls. I will send you the modifed single.php for you to use to your gmail id.

  24. I installed Gandhi theme;
It realy very very good but I am facing one small problem
Duwing login if I enter worng id and password; it does not display error message
When I change the theme to default it works
I have used it with WP 2.7 and 2.7.1 both but isue is same
please check my site yourself or

  25. Oh yes…that is a security feature added to all my themes…with the error message that wordpress throws, it is possible to know the user I have suppressed the error message in the theme…

  26. Rajesh,
    Thanks for reply..
How can I activate the error message.
If user enters wrong user name or pass or enter incorrect data during registration, he/she should know why login is refused or registration is refused.
I am also adding Catpcha during registration
    Please help.
If you do not want to disclose how to activate error message to all, you can send diret email to me…
    Thanks in advance for support

  27. Open functions.php file in your theme, find the following line:

add_filter(‘login_errors’,create_function(‘$a’, “return null;”)); /*For WP security – Does not expose username in case of any login error*/

delete it or comment it if you know how to comment. But, take a backup of functions.php before you make the changes.

  28. Thanks
Actually it took me about days to realize that it could be a theme error (or feature).
I had posted questions on WP forum also but did not got any answer.

At last I re-installed WP and when added theme, there was no error message.

    Thanks a Lot

  29. Rajesh,
I have one more issue. My site is on IIS 6 and I have set pretty permalink using 404 error page redirect method as described in some pages at wordpress site

After setting this I am getting 404 error page not found message on home page (center part) ; left and right side bar displayed correctly.

    Take a look at

Please help me resolve the issue

  30. Just an update:
I have addded a new 404.php page in my wordpress directory with following

and set this as 404 error page in the server

when I type in address bar -> it shows 404 error page of theme -> shows correct page -> show “Requested document not found on server” -> shows correct page

if i change 404.php in theme as above and set theme 404.php as 404 error page in server, wordpress blog url (as above) throws “fatal error” in line 1 of index.php (which is call for header)

Need your suggestion to work around

  31. It implies the redirect is not happening and instead only the 404 page is shown…Setting permalinks has nothing to do with the theme…
Yes WordPress runs best on Apache and for IIS6, you need workarounds..
    try this solution…..

  32. Rajesh,

I only did as per the link mentioned by you.

But shows 404 error page of theme.
while subdomain shows either 404.2 or 404.3 error page of the server

When i type it shows correct page and works perfectly. Permalinks is working fine no issues

I hope I am able to explain my issue. Thanks for your support

  33. I have implemented the solution refered by you….

If i go to it works perfectly.

    Permalinks works great. No issues

only issue is does not display index page but displays 404.php pf theme

while displays 404.2 or 404.3 error page from server. works perfectly.

  34. The above problems was due to running PHP as CGI application
When I changed the setting to ASAPI it worked.

There are some issues still there with Permalinks but now it is confirm that it has nothing to do with theme.

I am posting this message to confirm the there is no problem with he theme and it’s working now.

  35. hey, thanks for making that awesome template.
becoz i’m a newbie, i can’t get the css of widgets.
    where can i found it?
    thanks a bunch

  36. I don’t get you…What css you are asking for? Widgets are added via WordPress Admin through: Appearance–>Widgets.
If you are looking to modify the css for these, then you need to do it to sidebar-box within sidebar-left and sidebar-right.

  37. i mean your gandhi templates is blue.
and i wanna change it to another colour.
so, where can i get that??

  38. and i also wanna change the style of your footer.
    how do i get there?

  39. you need to do the changes to style.css file in the theme…take a backup of style.css before you make changes to it…also test your changes in a demo setup before you move it to server…i am assuming that you are familiar with editing stylesheets…

  40. Hello,

I was working on your theme for my website but experience some problems :-

The Tag of WordPress does not show the more info Button or link. We have to click on the title to read the further entry.

    Can you help us?

  41. Hello,

    One more thing please advise.
I am making posts with images > followed by text on your theme.
But I am able to see the text in features / post excerpts but “NOT” the IMAGES.

However when I click on the post header in full text page the images are shown.

I am not using any wordpress function to upload the images, I just add the source of the image in the begining of the post, as the images are kept on free image hosting servers like etc.

    Please resolve the problem Urgently.

  42. hi Rajesh!

first many thanks for providing us with this free template.

i need your help because the rss feed of my blog doesn’at appear anymore. by clicking on the rss button in the left sidebar (using firefox browser), i’m getting the error message “file not found”.

many thanks in advance for your support,

  43. @nmstrategies You feed url is not correct. You will have to change it manually in your theme.

  44. many thanks for your prompt feedback!

may i ask you for more detailed instructions where in my theme this change has to take place. the reason is i already did many different trials related to the coding of my theme, but without any result.

thanks in advance for your help, rgds!

  45. @nmstrategies What is your feed url?

There seems to be something wrong in your feeds. Even your original feed url does not work.

You will get this error irrespective of the theme. Don’t you get this error even with wordpress default theme?

  46. Hi again Rajesh.

Thank you again for your inputs, but unfortunately I just tried out my blog using the default theme and I can access my blog’s rss feed properly even from the WP preview window.

May I kindly ask you for your further support as I have no idea where I can find the detail of my rss feed within your blog’s theme.

    Many thanks in davence, regards!

  47. Unless you let me know what the RSS feed url is, I may not be able to get an answer for your problems. You say that you can access the blog’s rss feed properly using the default theme. What is your RSS feed url?

  48. I juse see an xml file with a title element as “The NMS Blog Β» Page not found” through either of the urls and not the feeds.

  49. Hi again Rajesh,

Just got the problem resolved. No idea where the error got stucked, but by uploading again the function.php file everything now seem to work properly.

Many thanks for your kind support, best regards!

  50. Is there a patch for IE6? Unfortunately the theme is not functioning in IE6 and many of my visitors will likely be using this old browser version. Thanks!

  51. It does work on IE6 and infact i use IE6.0.2800 on my PC…I think you have customized it…
On your left sidebar, the author widget has an extra <p> towards the end. Remove it.

When you add html content to widgets, make sure that you close all tags and don’t have any loose tags like above…

  52. how do i change the color of the sidemenu bar’s header
